There are many ways of understanding the prophecies in the Bible and other religious scripture concerning the return of Christ, the Promised One, the Prince of Peace, the Messiah, or one of many other names which refer to Him.
Some people feel that many fantastic things will occur in the physical world at the time of the Return. They conclude that the Return cannot happen without these occurrences. An alternative view is that these prophecies have spiritual meanings, and that the physical Return of the Promised One will occur in a way similar to the way He appeared in the past.
